Recent Work
The motivation for this recent body of work was inspired from considering the legacy (or burden) I leave with my children. I decided to work on a smaller scale so that when I leave my children with this package of paintings and sculptures, it would be easier to store.
How ingenious of me to think that when it comes to art, I could restrict my ideas, control the physical and spiritual aspect. To begin with, it is difficult for me to paint on a small canvas. When I sculpt I miss color, and when I paint I miss volume. These three factors: space, paint and material, brought me to begin attaching my own frames as an extension of the painting.
Simply visualizing the commencement of something new fed my blood and mind.
Nowadays I’m not only leaving large works, but also pieces that are heavier and more difficult to move.
